Get recognition for your
skills and past study

RPL is Recognition of Prior Learning. It is a process that assesses whether your skills, knowledge, and experience match what is required to achieve a formal qualification or units of competency in place of study.

The RPL process considers your:

  • previous training and education
  • work-related experience and on-the-job skills
  • life experience, such as volunteering and community service

RPL is a way for you to demonstrate to us what you can do and what you know. You will need to present evidence of your experience, such as certificates, before you enrol in RPL.

Complete our RPL inquiry form on this page, and we will contact you to discuss your experience and eligibility.

  • After confirming your eligibility, we will request that you submit all supporting documents, such as licenses, resumes, job sheets, references, etc., to rpl@covetraining.edu.au.
  • You may need to visit one of our locations to complete a competency discussion with our trainer and provide any additional documentation.
  • Once we receive your supporting evidence and verify your competency, we will arrange for payment to process your RPL.

After receiving all the necessary evidence and documents, you will receive a Statement of Attainment (SOA) within 5 business days.

Please call us on 8773 9000 or contact us here for further details about RPL for these courses:

If you got your qualification outside Australia and are a permanent resident in Victoria, you can apply to the Victorian Government Overseas Qualifications Unit for a free and confidential assessment to have your qualification nationally recognised.

If you got your skills in a trade overseas, an approved registered training organisation (RTO) can assess your qualification. Visit the Australian Government Trades Recognition Australia website for a list of approved RTOs and for information about the assessment process and eligibility.

Benefits of getting RPL

Save Time

Avoid repeating lessons you already know and jump straight to new information you need to secure your traffic qualifications sooner.

Save Money

Pay for what you need, not what you don’t. RPL gives you credit for your existing skillset so you just pay for necessary training.

Fill gaps in your skillset

The RPL process identifies gaps in your knowledge or other parts of a qualification which you can then complete with additional training.

Best 6 hours you could spend as an introduction to caravaning

Adrian was fantastic and very knowledgeable. He took us through hitching, caravan setup and of course towing. Lots of tips on extra things to get to help with setting yourself up. The towing with him through suburbia really gave us confidence. He also tweaked settings in the car to make the towing experience better. Lastly after he had finished he came with us in his own time to CARAC to check on our tow hitch.
